advances in Autonomous Robotics and Mechatronics;
- To foster the
interaction among researchers and students of Mobile Robotics;
- To motivate the imagination, the creativity, the innovation and the
technological development with the use of contests and challenges in
different leagues.
Events
The V Latin American Robotics Competition is part of the Intelligent
Robotics Journey (JRI) and is composed by distinct events,
sponsored by the IEEE Latin
American Robotics Council and by the
RoboCup Federation:
- VII IEEE Latin American Robotics Competition for Students
- VI IEEE Brazilian Robotics Competition for Students
- IV Latin American RoboCup Open
- II Brazilian RoboCup Open
- V RoboCup Brazil
- III RoboCup Junior Brazil
IEEE
The IEEE Latin American Robotics Contest for Students is in its
seventy edition and is sponsored by the IEEE Latin American Robotics
Council. Its objective is to foster the scientific and technological
development in the areas of Autonomous Robotics and Mechatronics in
Latin America.
The leagues of this contest have a great portion of challenges find
by mobile robots in the real world, like dynamic environment
navigation, environment exploration, execution of contingency
procedures in dangerous environments, environmental monitoring,
etc. The VII IEEE Latin American Robotics Competition for Students
subsumes the VI IEEE Brazilian Robotics Competition for Students.
RoboCup
The Latin American RoboCup Open, which is in its fourth edition, is
an event supported by the RoboCup Federation. The RoboCup is a
international joint project to foster the areas of artificial
intelligence, robotics and related fields. It is an attempt to
stimulate these areas using standard problems where many technologies
can be used and tested.
The IV Latin American RoboCup Open subsumes the II Brazilian RoboCup Open, the V RoboCup Brazil and the III RoboCup Junior Brazil. The
Brazilian National Team for the 2009 RoboCup World Championship, which
will be held in Graz, Austria, will be defined based on the results of
